Barite is a non-metallic mineral with barium sulfate (BaSO4) as the main component, non-renewable resources. Pure barite is white and lustrous. Due to the influence of impurity and mixture, it is often looks gray, light red and light yellow. Barite with good crystallization can also appear as transparent crystal.
The chemical properties of barite are stable and insoluble in water and hydrochloric acid,non-magnetic and toxic. Can be used as a white pigment, but also for chemicals, paper, textile fillers, in glass production it can act as a flux and increase the brightness of the glass. But it is mainly used as an aggravating agent in oil and gas drilling and barium extraction.
